It is part of the 3 works created during an artistic residency at the Image and Sound Museum of São Paulo.
The idea of the project is to create soundtracks for static works, such as photography and painting, where the main concept is that all things vibrate and contain an inherent sound. The image is composed and inspired by the soundtrack itself, containing the same sound / visual blocks.
The final work materializes while the audience hearing the piece at the exhibition, where the spectator or listener will let the sound guide him through the connections and experiences from his perception and repertoire through headphones.
MARTELLO2
Martello 2, the second work created during the artistic residency, following the same concepts; was created at the same time that the canvas was being painted.
Composed of hammering recorded at the MIS Studio, musical notes are transformed into hammering as well as hammering are transformed into audio information, and these together with the notes make up the colours present in the painting. The visual block of painting is the sound block, the notes inspire and are brushed, and the colours are encodings of notes, derived from visual experiences
